Frequently asked questions
Does everyone in the family have to attend?
Not always. Your clinician will talk with you about who should be involved and when.
Can family therapy be part of substance use treatment?
Yes. Our team can include family sessions alongside other services in a treatment plan. Family support is often an important part of recovery.
Is what we discuss private?
Your clinician will explain how privacy works for each person in the room. Information is shared outside the session only with consent, except where the law requires otherwise.
Does insurance cover family therapy?
Coverage depends on your plan. We accept Georgia Medicaid (including Amerigroup, Peach State Health Plan, and CareSource), dual Medicare and Georgia Medicaid, VA CCN with an authorization/referral letter, Tricare with PCP authorization, and self-pay. We will begin accepting commercial insurance in February 2027. Please confirm your behavioral health benefits and copay with your insurer before your visit.
