Cecelia Dixie, LCSW, was born in Manchester, Georgia and has remained in the state of Georgia for most of her life. She earned her Bachelor of Human Services/Sociology from Lagrange College and then completed her Master of Social Work at the University of South Carolina, Columbia. For the past 17 years, Cecelia has worked in the field of social work with different populations ranging from children to senior citizens. In the early years of her career, she worked in outpatient settings such as the Department of Family and Children Services and then move to an outpatient clinic providing clinical services such as individual, family and group therapy. For the last 12 years, Cecelia has worked in inpatient psychiatric settings where she has served as Program and Clinical Director overseeing the social work and other therapeutic departments. In 2017, she established a private practice where she provides clinical and consultation services with different agencies in the communities and probate courts. Earlier this year she joined the part-time staff at Kennesaw State University providing support to students in the Master of Social Work program. Cecelia has a 7-year-old daughter that is her world and that she hopes to inspire to be an advocate for all.
