Prescription & Controlled Substance Policy

At Willow Oak Community Behavioral Health Center, our providers are committed to safe, evidence-informed prescribing practices.

Please note:

  • Willow Oak generally does not prescribe, initiate, or assume ongoing management of benzodiazepines, stimulant medications, opioid/narcotic pain medications, chronic pain medications requiring controlled-substance management, or other controlled substances that are not clinically appropriate.
  • Scheduling an appointment does not guarantee that any specific medication or controlled substance will be prescribed, continued, or refilled.
  • All medication decisions are made by your treating prescriber based on your clinical needs, medical history, and professional judgment.

Questions about medications or prescription requests? Please discuss them directly with your provider during your appointment or contact our office for assistance.

Important: Do not stop taking prescribed medications without first consulting your healthcare provider.
