Job Title: Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CACI, CACII, CADC, CCS)

JOB STATUS: Full Time or Part Time Contractor

Job Responsibilities:

1. Interview individuals and others to determine level of functioning, treatment needs, make recommendations for care and determine suitability for participation in program;
2. Complete and maintain accurate electronic clinical documentation and reports regarding individuals’ histories, progress, interventions provided;
3. Provide counseling to individuals in care and family members on an individual and/or group format to assist in recovery from substance use disorders;
4. Create treatment and relapse prevention plans based on clinical experience, individual/family interviews, treatment needs, and evidence based practices;
5. Review and evaluate progress towards recovery goals identified and determine readiness for step down, discharge and aftercare;
6. Conduct and/or participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings;
7. May provide crisis intervention services as needed.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

1. Experienced with Electronic Health Records
2. Basic computer skills, drivers license
3. Knowledgeable of state and federal laws associated with alcohol & drug treatment
4. Must be able to communicate effectively in written and verbal format
5. Able to demonstrate active listening and hope for recovery in interactions with others

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

1. Documentation will be completed by end of shift on the date service provided
2. Return all phone/email inquiries from individuals within 24 hours
3. Obtain productivity standard associated with job status
4. Minimum 95% clean claims submission the first time
5. Completion of required training a minimum of 24 hours prior to due date

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Professional Certification in Alcohol and Drug Counseling (CACII, CADCII, CCADC, CAS, and CACI with Addiction Counselor Trainee with supervision)
2. Masters in Counseling or Social Services Field
3. Minimum 2-3 years experience post certification
